ROUTE OF THE HANGING VILLAGES<\/strong><\/p>

Considered one of the most spectacular coastal trails of Santo Ant\u00e3o and the entire archipelago, this excursion gives you the opportunity to discover Fontainhas, Corvo, and Formiguinhas. This walk is a perfect contrast between the sea and the land, where throughout the journey you will be dazzled by the dramatic agricultural landscapes, traditional villages, and panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean. The starting point is in the iconic city of Ponta do Sol. After walking for about an hour along a road with huge slopes on either side of a steep abyss, you will arrive at the village of Fontainhas. Chosen by UNESCO as one of the most beautiful natural villages in the world, Fontainhas surprises everyone with its vertiginous location and colorful houses. Upon arriving in the village, you will have the opportunity to experience and feel the hospitality of the locals and the simplicity of local life.<\/p>

If you prefer, you can be driven by car\u00a0 to Fonta\u00ednhas and start the hiking from there. Then you will continue your adventure and pass through the other villages, Corvo, Formiguinhas, and finally Cruzinha.<\/p>

Along the way, you will pass by small water wells, lush vegetation, and encounter mules and goats, which are part of the daily scenery of Santo Ant\u00e3o.<\/p>

Our tour ends in Cruzinha, where our driver will be waiting to take you back to your accommodation. But before that, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious traditional lunch and also engage yourself by taking a look at the fishing village and the daily life of the fishermen.<\/p>
